PROFILE OF ACTIVITIES.
Objectives:
National Informatics Center was set up with a long-term
objective of setting up a computer-based informatics culture
for decision support to Government/Ministries/ Department
and development, networking, databases management programs
for getting the information needed. NIC's is promoting and
systemizing the data collection, organization, processing
and its on-line accessibility. From 1985-86 NIC has extended
its informatics support services to state and District
Administrations and signed Memorandum of understanding with
all the State Government/UT’s of the Union of India.
NIC has
been made the nodal Science & Technology organization of the
Government of India under the Ministry of Communication &
Information technology to introduce information technology
tools for executive support system (EGS) development and
distributed databases (DPBS) expert system , electronic mail
services and 560 Districts administration through its
satellite based information communication network (NICNET).
Primary Infrastructure :
An all
India organization Infrastructure with more than 5,000
personnel and a computer center in every district of the
country. The organizational set-up of NIC is:
Headquarters - New Delhi
State Centers
State
centers located in each state capital/Union territory –
State Informatics Officer (SIO) is co-ordinating the
implementation activity of various s/w packages with
respective government department and NIC District Centre
Units.
Mr. Moiz Hussain is State Informatics Officer for
Maharashtra State and under his guidance all the District
level implementation co-ordinated with District Informatics
Officers.
District Centers
One in
each district of the country.
Adequate computing resources to cater to the need of the
Government departments at all levels of
administration-central, state and district. This includes
computer services to almost central Government ministries in
New Delhi, State Government department –organizations.
National Informatics Center (NIC), constituted by the
Government at all levels of its hierarchy such as the
Central Government, State Government and District
Administrations, has set up a nationwide satellite based
computer communication network called “NICNET”. NICNET in
its present configuration connects all Central Government
Departments/State Government Secretariats, District
Administration Headquarters and some public sector
organizations in a single integrated network. In parallel
with setting up infrastructure, NIC has developed a large
number of informatics services for almost all sectors of the
Government such as economy, industry, etc. Many of this
service make extensive use of NICNET resulting in timely,
efficient and reliable flow of information at different
levels in the Government hierarchy.
Services provided by NIC District Centre, Nashik
The NIC,Dist Centre, Nashik is setup
in 1988 located in the premises of Collectorate, Nashik for
providing technical support and guidance in implementation
of computerisation. Also to provide the NICNET services for
data transmission from District to Mantralaya, Mumbai and
vice versa.
In
NIC,District Centre Setup having -
One Windows
2003 Server, One
Server(Win 2000 server), 2 Clients (win-2000), 1 Client (win
98) machines with
UPS power
supply.
1 Sky Blaster
VSAT and 16 Port hub for data transmission, e-mail
etc.
2 Television bases multipoint Video Conferencing is
available at District Centre.
3. RAS equipment for dial up users.
4. 2 MBPS Leased Line connectivity between
NIC District Centre Nashik and NIC Maharashtra State Unit.

Software/Product Information supported by NIC Distrtict
Centre, Nashik.
Land Record System :-
Land is a valuable asset of human being Documents relating
to these lands are kept at safe place. This document forms a
“Land Record” In rural areas, owner of land can be finding
out from village form No 7/12. This is called as Record of
Rights. In Urban areas these are called as property Register
Card. This gives you comprehensive extracts of a given
property.

LMIS (Land Management Information System)
: This S/W is developed by NIC, Pune. This software is used
for the computerization of Village Form 7/12. LMIS s/w is
implemented in all 15 Tahsils of Nashik District.
Computerized 7/12 will be issued to the farmers.

PCIS (Property Cards Information System)
: This S/W is developed by NIC, Pune. This software is used
for the computerization of Property Cards. PCIS s/w is
implemented in all 12 TILRs and 2 CTSOs of Nashik District.
This s/w is used for the computeration of property cards.
Computerized PR cards are being issued to the Public.

Guarantee Scheme s/w :- Developed by : STATE UNIT -
MAHARASHTRA
Nashik
is being selected as a Pilot district for implementation of
the Web based software developed by NIC Maharashtra State
Unit. Three different Workshop cum training programme for
the staff from various Agencies involved in the
implementation of various schemes under EGS conducted at NIC
District Centre and online implementation is in progress.
Record Room Information
System :- Developed by : NIC Pune Development Centre
- MAHARASHTRA
The package is developed for implementation in the record
rooms of State Government offices. The Offices where RRIS
S/w is implemented :- Collectorate, Zilla Parishad,
Divisional Commissioner Office, Co-Operative Department.
National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme

Online monitoring of NREGA
project for the District Administration.
Rainfall Recording :-
Developed by : NIC Pune Development Centre - MAHARASHTRA
This S/W is used for the computarsation of rainfall in
different tahsils of Nashik District. It generate the
reports of daily rainfall, average rainfall etc.Taluka wise
rainfall values are essential for planning seed
distribution, fertilizer movement, pesticide availability,
deciding drought or flooded area for announcing subsidies
Crop Watch Information
System (Web Based) :- Tehsilwise cropwise weekly
Information of crop sown for the all the season is being
regularly updated by Agriculture Department, Zilla Parishad,
Nashik.
MPLADS Schemes (Web Based)
:-
Software is developed by NIC New Delhi and implemented in
Nashik for various works sactioned from the funds of
Hon’ble MP under Nashik District.
Rural Soft Software (Web
Based) :- Rural Soft software is developed by NIC,
New Delhi. Monthly Progress Report for the various schemes
implemented in DRDA Nashik is being regularly updated by the
concerned department.
Agriculture Produce Market Information System(APM) :-
Developed by : STATE UNIT - MAHARASHTRA , MAHARASHTRA.
It is a communication based system and brings agricultural
marketing information at the door step of the agriculturist.
It captures the most recent market arrival and rates for
various regulated commodities for all the major Agricultural
Produce Marketing Committees (APMC) in Maharashtra, and
creates a central database. Nearly 15 APMCs regularly send
and receive data on a daily basis. The website for this is

The DACNET project is implemented in Nashik. and AGMARKNET
project is implemented at Fifteen locations.

3. Habitation Survey (Regarding Drinking Water)
Employment Exchange :-
Software developed by NIC Pune Development Centre
implemented at Nashik. With Client Server Connectivity and
Linux-DB2 platform. Live data of all the candidates
registered with Employment Exchange Nahik is about 3.00 lacs.
RTO Computerisation :-
Software developed by NIC Pune Development Centre and
implemented at RTO Office Nashik.
The software is for Learners Driving Licence, Permanent
Driving Licence, Vehicle Registration etc.
District Court
Computerisation :-
Software is developed by NIC New Delhi and implemented in
District Court Nashik for appealate courts.
At present all the tehsil courts under Nashik district also
will be connected via Local Network and centralised database
will be maintained for all the courts under Nashik District
including co-operative court, industrial court, Labour
Court, Motor Vehicle Court and all the other taluka courts.
District Treasury
Computerisation :-
Software is developed by NIC Pune Development Centre and
implemented in District Treasury and Sub – Treasury Offices
under Nashik District.
District Agriculture
Department (MSQC) :-
Pesticide Control Licence Software is developed by NIC Pune
Development Centre and implemented in District Agriculture
Office and Divisional Agriculture Office.
Tribal Development Department :-
Various Software packages developed by NIC Pune Development
Centre, Tribal Caste Scrutiny Software package developed
locally, implemented in Tribal Development Department,
Nashik.
Central Excise Department :-
Software is developed by NIC (HQ) New Delhi and implemented
in Central Excise Department Nashik with Client-Server
technology.
Composite Payroll System
(CPS) :-
Software is developed by NIC (HQ) and implemented in
Government Printing Press (Government of India Organisation)
Nashik.
